Just months after leaving a major Manhattan law firm to join Meltzer Lippe & Goldstein, Ira Halperin
has been promoted to co-chair of the firm's corporate practice group.
Halperin, formerly of counsel to Weil Gotshal
& Manges, will work side-by-side with name partner Richard
Lippe, who has led the corporate practice group since 1979.
Lewis Meltzer, the firm's managing partner, said Halperin has displayed outstanding leadership and
is expected to be an important part of the firm's future. Lippe said he was pleased to be teaming with Halperin and had confidence
in his ability to help lead the corporate practice group.
Halperin joined Meltzer Lippe earlier this year, bringing experience in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets to the firm's clients.
In addition to his corporate law experience, Halperin is a certified public accountant who has served as an officer at several companies based in New York City and Long Island,
including microMedia Imaging Systems and Vidtech Inc.
He received a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and a juris doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law.
