Richard Lippe, a senior partner with the Mineola law firm Meltzer, Lippe, Goldstein & Schlissel, was appointed this week by Gov. George Pataki to the advisory council of the New York State Office of Science, Technology and Academic Research, or NYSTAR. Lippe is the only attorney to sit on the panel.
The purpose of NYSTAR is to encourage the research and development of new technologies in the state. It will help guide the distribution of $95 million capital facility program and a $7.5 million faculty development program.
