Katherine assisted in the rewriting of Collier on Bankruptcy 15th Edition and has clerked for two Bankruptcy Court Judges - one for the Eastern District of New York in Central Islip and one for the Southern District of New York.

Katherine joined Meltzer Lippe in 2004 as an associate in the Bankruptcy Department. For the prior two and a half years she served as "elbow" clerk for the Hon. Stan Bernstein, a United States Bankruptcy Court Judge for the Eastern District of New York in Central Islip. As law clerk for Judge Bernstein, Katherine helped research and write opinions for the Judge. She also assisted in the management of Judge Bernstein's caseload which included nearly 100 pending adversary proceedings. She has also clerked for the Hon. Howard Buschman, a United States Bankruptcy Court Judge for the Southern District of New York in 1983.

She has also represented more than 100 individual chapter 7 and 13 debtors and has extensive experience in both preparing and litigating all phases of chapter 7 and 13 cases. She has advised individuals in asset planning matters in order to save real property and has also represented individual debtors in negotiations with taxing authorities and in defense discharge and dischargeability actions in Bankruptcy Court.

She gained extensive experience as Editorial Manager of the Banking Bankruptcy and Commercial Departments of Matthew Bender, Inc., a legal publishing company where she worked for fourteen years. As Editorial Manager she supervised editorial associates and legal editors and negotiated author contracts and monitored the progress of outside authors. She was instrumental in the rewriting of Collier on Bankruptcy, 15th Edition and helped develop and write materials for new electronic products for bankruptcy product line.

Katherine lives in Bayside, New York. In her free time she enjoys camping with her son, Joseph. She is active in the Boy Scout Troop 142 in Bayside Hills as the Troop's "Chartered Organization Representative."
